Hello!  I am Lisa.  I am a mother of two wonderful sons and a wife to a loving husband of 20 years.  I grew up in a small community in Central Montana and have lived in this awesome state most of my life.  My boys were diagnosed with Duchenne MD in 2001 and I worked until 2005.  I have been home taking care of them ever since.

My husband was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in 2005.  It was a tough time but the community we live in is awesome and they helped us out in many ways.  A couple of months after he was diagnosed, after many prayers, my husband’s heart strength responded to the meds!  He has been doing well ever since.

My boys can no longer walk or do many things for themselves.  You wouldn’t know it from their smiles though!  They went to school until 10th and 11th grade and earned their GED’s this past spring.  They went to regular class like the rest of the kids and never let their disease slow them down!  They rock!

My mother also has MD and has difficulty walking but she is happy and enjoys spending time with her friends and feeding her birds.  I also carry the disease, but I do well for the most part.  I have to eat right and take good care of myself.

I enjoy reading, photography, music, cooking, crocheting and reading God’s word.  I spend a lot of time at home with my boys but they are happy and healthy and that means the world to me.  I am truly blessed and excited for this new adventure of blogging!
